Hey everyone,
Sorry it's been so long since I have updated the blog... lots of things have been going on and I just haven't had the time to do it. I have spent most of the time looking for a job and hanging out with Rob and Travis, but it's amazing how fast the day goes by when you don't have a job! So please forgive me, I will be better about keeping everything updated!
Lots of love!
Ash
Well Travis decided on Thursday night that he didn't want to be in his crib anymore. I was hoping we had a few more months of using his crib. I am such a planner as I was already researching options for his new bed but this threw a wrench in plans. So much for trying to plan everything out.... :)
Around 8pm after we had put him to bed about 7:15pm, I heard a very loud scream coming from the monitor, so I run to his room to find Travis sprawled out on the floor crying hysterically. I check him over to see if anything is broken and find 2 big bumps on his head, so after 2 calls to the dr's and watching him for 2 hours to make sure he didn't have a concussion, we all went to bed in our bed. I had to wake him up every 2 hours to make sure he would wake up, so it wasn't a very restful night for anyone.Friday afternoon I went and bought him a new twin bed, the bedding, bed rails, and all the stuff you would need for a new bed. We were up until about 9pm trying to assemble his room to be ready for him to sleep in. We had wall straps for his furniture (since he is a climber now, I didn't know if he would be climbing on his dresser next and didn't want to take a chance of it falling on him), we washed all his sheets and quilt and set it all up, installed the bed rails and FINALLY got him to sleep. He was so tired and he slept like a champ. He didn't get out of his bed once and once he woke up at 6:45, he just called for me like always and didn't miss a beat. I am so proud on my big boy but it's bitter sweet for me too! He's not my precious little baby anymore....he is my precious little boy!
Yeah has been the new favorite word in the house over the last week. Everything we ask Travis, he answers with a "yeah". Travis do you want to go outside - yeah. Travis, do you want to take a bath - yeah. Travis do you want to have pasta for dinner - yeah. But most of the time once we start to do what we have asked or give him the things we asked, he shakes his head no and doesn't want it.
Last night, I picked up dinner for us since Rob was working late and once we got home, I asked Travis if he wanted to wash his hands and he said "yeah" and when we got to the sink, he shook his head no and started crying because he didn't want to wash his hands even when I asked him 30 seconds before. Same things with dinner, I asked Travis if he wanted dinner and he said "yeah" and then once we sat down, he cried because it wasn't what he wanted, so after trying 5 things to get him to eat and stop crying, he finally gave in and started to eat applesauce after I gave him the right spoon after 4 different ones!
Ah, the joys of a fickle toddler! lol
